I have the Xero shoes Umara Z-Trails that do not go in between the big toes. Is there a way to secure them to the sandals so they don’t fly out while running?

Hi, Baron,

Thank you for your question. My recommendation is to try trimming down the “nubs” that project toward the foot on the device’s 1st and 4th pillars. Please see this video, starting at 7:51, for a demonstration of this technique:

Alternatively, you could loop two thin velcro straps through the device’s 1st and 4th pillar cavities to secure the spacers to your big and little toes, respectively.

I hope these suggestions help!

Kind regards,
Laura Trentman

Great articles and info. Thank you for educating us! I’m doing better since I adapted my sneakers (by removing the insole) while I look for shoes that have the features you describe. It’s sad, though, that we are inundated with bad information by the market and our doctors. Carry on!
